Open Position: Plant Biologist (Full-time tenure track) Department of Biology The Biology Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position beginning in the Fall of 2020. Rank and salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: The Biology Departments seeks a candidate who will enhance the plant biology component of our curriculum and expect research in which undergraduates can collaborate. We value the use of interactive and inclusive pedagogies and seek applicants with demonstrated success in working with diverse student populations. We welcome applicants from a variety of plant sciences, such as plant interactions, plant symbiosis, plant development, or plant biochemistry. Courses to be taught include Plant Biology, sections of our Foundations of Biology sequence, and upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. There also will be opportunities to teach the University’s multidisciplinary CORE courses and honors seminars. Required qualifications: Doctoral degree in Biology with expertise in plant biology and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level in both class and laboratory formats is required. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
