Assistant Research Scientist
The position offered is a non-tenure track Assistant Research Scientist position (100% Research) housed in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Georgia’s Tifton Campus. The applicant will be expected to be an accomplished investigator to maintain a vigorous research program in the area of peanut genetics and breeding. The overall research goal is to improve peanut yield, quality and disease resistance through application of modern breeding technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research projects on deciphering the genetic controls of peanut morphological traits and disease resistance to leaf spots, rust, tomato spotted wilt virus and white mold and reduced contamination with aflatoxin.
