The Data Modeler is responsible for performing highly complex activities related to the design, development, validation, implementation, documentation, and on-going maintenance of data structures and that offer insights to a wide range of business initiatives. They develop and train machine learning algorithms using cutting edge technology to extract predictive models/patterns using large data sets. They will provide modeling and strategic recommendation that can be implemented and will enhance portfolio profitability with appropriate control in risk. They also work with clients to analyze and interpret data in support of identifying market and business trends, conduct root cause analyses of business problems and provide strategic suggestions for improvement. The Data Modeler role is also responsible for planning future changes to the environment to increase functionality, improve efficiencies and/or reduce operational costs..
What you will do here:
Analyze and translate business requirements into conceptual and fully detailed logical data models. Work with business architects, data architect, and engineers to capture business requirements in a logical data model. Create logical data models based on existing applications and databases.
Develop advanced analytics using an assortment of modeling methods, algorithms and techniques, e.g., predictive modeling, text mining, statistical forecasting and analysis, optimization, and simulation modeling.
Use data analysis techniques to develop insights that lead to new recommendations presented to management.
Ensure compliance with data modeling standards and best practices including data design, quality, integrity, security, performance, reliability, accessibility, and business continuity. Contribute to ongoing updates to data modeling standards and guidelines.
Monitor latest advances in data modeling methodologies and standards towards the recommendation of improved standards and best practices.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, and other related quantitative field required.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, and other related quantitative fields.preferred.
5+ years of business intelligence experience required.
5+ years’ experience with quantitative model design and development using ‘R’ and Python required.
1+ year's experience with model development in financial industry a plus preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis such as Python / Scala / Java required.
Expertise in generalized regression and linear models, unsupervised and supervised machine learning algorithms required.
Experienced with traditional database / system language to collaborate with other data analysts / systems required.
Strong written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings and influence across all levels of the organization required.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills, ability to exercise judgement and take action on it, keen attention to detail required.
