The Schmitz Lab (https://schmitzlab.uga.edu/) at the University of Georgia is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to join our team to study cis-regulatory element biology in plant genomes. The laboratory is leveraging single-cell genomics, including spatial omics, to identify, characterize and validate cis-regulatory elements within and between plant species. We are also innovating cell-based assays for gain-of-function analysis of cis-regulatory elements and associated trans factors. We’re especially interested in applicants that are interested in the intersection of genetic variation (induced or natural), cis-regulatory elements and phenotypic variation.
