NAPIGEN, Inc. is seeking a goal-oriented Research Scientist with demonstrated accomplishment in the fields of plant tissue culture and plant transformation technology to work at our Wilmington, Delaware location. The successful candidate will apply and develop tissue culture and transformation processes supporting mitochondrial gene editing in important agronomic crop plants.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Implements and develops new protocols to serve changing needs of R&D targets.
• Uses knowledge in subject area to interpret success level and outcome of various approaches for the team.
• Trains and supervises Associate Scientists to support projects.
• Manages a potentially complicated workflow.
• Uses and improves practices which maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Communicates scientific data well.

• PhD in Plant Science or a closely related field.
• Postdoc research or equivalent experiences.
• Track record of accomplishment in research and application of plant tissue culture and gene delivery technologies for major agronomic crop plants preferably including but not limited to wheat.
• Experience & knowledge in gene editing technologies.
• Working understanding of plant molecular genetics.
