A Postdoctoral Research Associate position focusing on Populus genome editing is available in the laboratory of CJ Tsai at the University of Georgia. The project is affiliated with the Center for Bioenergy Innovation, a DOE-funded multi-institutional bioenergy center. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong background and experience in molecular genetics and synthetic biology, evidenced by relevant peer-reviewed publications.
The incumbent will have opportunities to participate in different aspects of CRISPR research, from tool development to trait engineering. The individual will also gain experience in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. For some of our recent work, see PMID: 32139476 and PMID: 35298644.
Applicants should have a PhD in plant molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or related fields, with hands-on experience in genome editing and metabolic engineering. Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate among project team members and external collaborators are necessary.
