Research (Plant) Geneticist (Postdoctoral Research Associate)
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Crop Improvement and Protection Unit, Salinas, California, has two Research (Plant) Geneticist (Postdoctoral Research Associate) positions open. The selectees will be expected to identify and characterize the mechanisms, genes, QTL, molecular markers, and traits underlying salt and drought stress tolerance in lettuce. Conduct QTL mapping and study the fatty acids, metabolome, gene expression and inheritance of salt and drought tolerance traits. Incorporate the beneficial traits into new lettuce cultivars.
