A postdoctoral position is available at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Amarillo, TX to study water use efficiency in various vegetable production systems, primarily tomato, and melons. Production systems will include open field drip irrigation, center pivot sprinkler irrigation (LESA), center pivot mobile drip irrigation (MDI), and high tunnel production. Specific research objectives will involve 1) quantifying soil-plant water relations, economic yield, water use efficiency and total water use for high value specialty crops produced under different irrigation production systems, 2) examine the effect of the different irrigation systems on root growth and development, and 3) compare the Irrigation Scheduling and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (ISSCADA) sys
