WHO WE NEED We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Civil Engineer to work primarily in our Site Team at our Endwell, NY office. The desired candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience and preferably have a Professional Engineering (PE) License. Proficiency in HydroCAD, MicroStation InRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D and past development of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans following NYSDEC is required. Past experience with traffic modeling software, development of Traffic Impact Studies, and familiarity with other software tools typically used in site and roadway design such as AutoTurn, the Microsoft Office Suite, Estimator, etc. is preferred. Primary duties will include: - Using methods recommended by Senior project team members, perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, and/or equipment.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment with less experienced staff to solve engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education, noting that reaching out to senior staff for feedback or suggestions when required is encouraged.
- Remaining proficient in the use of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD, and becoming proficient in group design software.
- Preparing or assist in the preparation of engineering documents, details, schedules or reports as assigned.
- Preparing for and leading client meetings/presentations.
- Representing our private and public clients at meetings, including occasional night meetings (e.g., Planning Board or public meetings)
- Frequent communication with teammates, senior staff, client representatives, local/county/state agency representatives, contractors, and suppliers.
- Working with senior staff to assemble and lead field inspection teams to obtain and document existing conditions using field notes, sketches, and photography.
- Developing quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates.
- Participating in and leading site visits/inspections during construction.
- When needed to maintain project schedules, working overtime
