WHO WE NEED
We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Engineer to work primarily in our Site Team at our Endwell, NY office. The desired candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred. Documentable proficiency in HydroCAD, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is required; InRoads Storm & Sanitary and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge is preferred. Past experience in the development of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans which implemented green infrastructure for site and linear projects is preferred. Primary duties will include:
Using methods recommended by Senior project team members, perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, and/or equipment.
Working collaboratively in a team environment to solve engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education, feeling free to ask colleagues for assistance when required.
Remaining proficient while expanding your working knowledge of computer applications including the Microsoft Office Suite, InRoads and/or Civil 3D, and becoming proficient other miscellaneous group design software such as AutoTurn, Estimator, etc.
Developing engineering documents, details, schedules or reports as assigned.
Preparing for and participating in client meetings/presentations.
Preparation for and attendance with senior staff at private and municipal meetings to represent our clients, including occasional night meetings (e.g., Planning Board meetings)
Frequently communicating with teammates, client representatives, contractors, and suppliers.
Serving on field inspection teams to obtain and document existing conditions using field notes, sketches, and photography.
Developing quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates.
Participating in and documenting observations from site visits/inspections during construction.
When needed to maintain project schedules, working overtime
