Postdoc: Gene Regulation and Epigenetics, Michaels Lab, Indiana University

An NSF-funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Scott Michaels in the Department of Biology at Indiana University, Bloomington.  Our laboratory studies gene regulation and epigenetics, primarily in the model plant Arabidopsis and rice (https://biology.indiana.edu/about/faculty/michaels-scott.html).  This project focuses on the role that a family of negative transcription elongation factors (BORDER proteins) play in the establishment of epigenetic gene silencing and the prevention of transcriptional interference between neighboring genes.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop independent lines of research that could be continued in a subsequent position.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and significant experience in molecular biology/molecular genetics.  Prior experience with plants, genome-wide analyses (e.g., RNA-seq and ChIP-seq), and/or bioinformatics is preferred, but not required. Starting salary is commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
