What you will do
As a Supplier Controls Manager, you will be responsible for leading Supplier Controls activities and process improvement initiatives within the Stryker Spine franchise. You will work closely with local, divisional and corporate stakeholders in the development of Supplier Controls systems, tools, policies and procedures, ensuring that they are fully understood and implemented. You will also be responsible for the development, revision, maintenance and inactivation of procedures ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines for purchasing controls and supplier management.
Additionally, you will implement strategy for supplier controls, procurement and strategic sourcing processes and procedures in coordination supplier quality teams and the corporate supplier controls team.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and monitor reports for the selection, evaluation, and removal of suppliers from the approved supplier list in order to assure the quality and reliability of products
Provide input and evaluation of potential acquisition targets regarding purchasing controls and supplier assessment gap analysis and provide planning for supplier base integration
Partner with supplier quality, strategic sourcing, and divisional leads across spine franchise sites to lead and implement consistent global supplier management, procurement and strategic sourcing processes and procedures
Support companywide initiatives to develop and implement systems to ensure our suppliers follow ethical and environmentally sustainable practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines and procedures
Lead and/or support development and implementation of processes to build a best in class supplier controls organization
Lead annual supplier risk assessment review
Support companywide initiatives to develop and implement data and support systems to provide visibility into Stryker’s global supply chain to enable global decision making and performance monitoring
Work with site and divisional counterparts to complete corporate purchasing controls CAPAs
Support third party inspections (FDA, Notified Bodies, etc.) and Stryker corporate quality system audits; may participate in supplier audits
Provide input for management review and monthly metrics reporting
What you need
A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience OR a Master's degree and a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for this role
Lead Auditor, PMP or supply chain and/or medical device quality certification preferred
In- depth knowledge of supplier quality agreements (QAA) and Supplier Change Control Agreements (CCA)
Experience integrating best practices to achieve quality/continuous improvements
Experience developing and implementing quality management systems, particularly with respect to purchasing/supplier controls and supplier quality assessment/supplier development activities in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, etc.)
Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO3485 and ISO9001 preferred
Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
Financial and strategic analysis and negotiation skills required; commercial contract knowledge preferred
General understanding of basic engineering and applied statistical analysis desired
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication, presentation and partnership skills and ability to communicate well to all levels within the organization
Ability to build relationships and influence across multiple functions and levels both internally and externally
