Post-doctoral Research Associate position in plastid biochemistry
A Post-Doctoral (Research Associate) position is available in chloroplast biochemistry at Michigan State University in the laboratory of Dr. Peter Lundquist. We are looking for a candidate to study the recruitment and function of proteins localized to the plastoglobule, a lipid-protein particle of chloroplasts and other plastid sub-types. Plastoglobules are highly relevant to plant stress responses and play an active role in thylakoid membrane remodeling and numerous lipid metabolic pathways. While it has been suggested that there is a core proteome of about 30 proteins localized to the plastoglobule, evidence indicates additional proteins are selectively recruited to the plastoglobule under specific conditions. The incumbent will utilize protein expression, affinity-purifications (e.g.
