The project involves breeding of sorghum lines, with increased grain protein quality and digestibility, already generated by CRISPR, into sorghum lines with enhanced input traits. Work will involve making genetic crosses and managing plants, and analyzing the progeny over generations using molecular, biochemical, cell biological and genomics methods. Proficiency in plant molecular biology and genomics during masters degree is required. Candidates without a masters degree will be considered if they can demonstrate suitable experience.
